Step 1
Ensure that the foot is clean and dry and apply the gel impregenated oakum on the desired area. Deposit any remaining gel onto the sole of the foot.
Step 4
If available, apply a protective boot. Alternatively, finish wrapping the foot with Duct Tape as shown. Cover the sole with tape and then wrap multiple times around the outer edge of the foot. Then allow your horse to stand. Duct Tape provides a cost affective durable "24 hr disposable protective boot" and assists minimising exposure to air, water and moisture.
Step 2
If utilising the Protective Wool Felt Pad cover the sole of the foot with the pad. If the wool felt pad is not required or desired or you are only using a hoof gel sachet then the sole of the foot may be covered with the product packaging.
Step 3
Cover and wrap the foot with an apropriate adhesive bandage so as to create an airtight environment. Less than half a roll of elastoplast is sufficient if finishing with duct tape.
Recommended application period is twenty four (24) hours repeating as required.
